TAL unveils Risk Academy program 2023

The insurer celebrates the ninth anniversary of the program.

Australian life insurer TAL has announced the 2023 course schedule for its adviser education platform, the TAL Risk Academy.

This year’s program features 20 new courses, now offering a combined 110 live and on-demand courses that have cumulated over the Risk Academy’s nine years of educational expertise.

TAL head of sales and partnerships Beau Riley said the program is focused on “providing advisers with a high-quality learning environment and is continually adapting to changing industry and adviser needs”.

“Through our comprehensive and flexible suite of courses, informed by adviser feedback and delivered by trusted subject-matter experts, we are proud to support advisers to provide excellent advice and build thriving advice practices,” Mr Riley continued.

New to the program in 2023 are the AskAnExpert monthly Tech Series and Ethics Month, alongside the already existing Professional Year program and an expanded library of reading materials that offer continuing professional development (CPD) hours.

“Ethics Month has been developed to help advisers understand the latest industry requirements and obligations, while the interactive AskAnExpert series allows our technical team to provide comprehensive guidance to advisers’ topical and complex questions,” Mr Riley explained.

Launched last year, the Professional Year program offers structured training so that new entrants can hit the ground running as they begin their careers in advice.

Entrants can participate in courses divided into four categories, which include advice skills and training, business management, education and professionalism, and professional year.
