HLB Mann Judd announces coast to coast appointments

The advisory and accounting group has hit the ground running in the new financial year, announcing a suite of appointments across its Sydney and Perth offices.

The start of July often sees a lot of appointments and promotions announced as part of the new financial year, and this year is no exception, with HLB Mann Judd announcing several internal and external appointments and promotions, all effective 1 July.

Operating in the firm’s Sydney office, Lindzi Caputo has been promoted to partner in the wealth management division after 16 years at HLB Mann Judd, starting out as a graduate in superannuation services in 2009.

Caputo is a member of the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA) and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), and specialised in wealth accumulation, superannuation, retirement planning and investment advice.

Joining from KPMG, Ronnie Calligeros has been appointed to the assurance and advisory team, bringing with him almost two decades of experience in the industry spanning everything from ASX-listed companies to managed investment schemes and not-for-profits.

Also in the Sydney office, Marcus Polovineo has been promoted to partner and Simon Thorp has joined as a senior partner, both in the tax consulting team.

Speaking on the announcement, HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association chair Tony Fittler said appointing four new partners marks a “significant milestone in the association’s growth journey”, noting how both the firm and the financial services industry have evolved in recent years.

Meanwhile, six directors have also been appointed across the HLB Mann Judd Sydney and Perth firms.

On the east coast, Emma Hicks, Katie Bruce and Lachlan Bell have been promoted to director.

Hicks joined the firm in 2009 as a financial adviser and specialises in delivering investment advice, wealth creation, superannuation and retirement planning.

Bruce has been with HLB Mann Judd since 2020 operating as an audit supervisor and then audit manager on the assurance and advisory team. Similarly, Bell is an audit director, a member of CA ANZ and specialises in freight forwarding, managed funds and property management.

Looking to the west, Brendan Bate, Dylan Sheard and Don Tyrie have also been promoted to director.

Bate is a member of the wealth management team and brings more than two decades’ industry experience to the role, while also holding a graduate diploma in financial planning.

Part of the Perth-based corporate and audit services team, Sheard has been with the firm since 2009, while Tyrie, a member of the tax advisory services team, has been with the firm since 2018.
