CountPlus has announced that its acquisition of SMSF service provider Accurium is complete.
The listed advice group confirmed the news on Tuesday, which now sees it hold an 85 per cent shareholding in Accurium, while some key Accurium management hold 15 per cent.
CountPlus first announced the intention to acquire Accurium from investment manager Challenger late last month at a total purchase consideration of $9 million.
Challenger will continue to provide traditional services to Accurium for up to 12 months.
Accurium general manager Douglas McBirnie will take on the role of managing director, while it is also anticipated that all current team members will be retained by the business.
CountPlus said the move is part of its strategy to invest in “core-related” diversification activities that “have a regulatory aspect or that enable/enhance core firm activities”.
The Accurium deal follows CountPlus’ acquisition of paraplanning firm Wealth Axis in May.
