Darren Wickham is set to take the role with Zurich, after spending nine years with TAL, where he most recently has been executive general manager – group life.
Mr Wickham is reported to have had close to 30 years’ experience as an actuary and specialist in super and retirement income and benefits, including as a partner in Mercer’s retirement, risk and finance practice.
Zurich Life & Investments chief executive Justin Delaney said the company was excited to have Mr Wickham join its team.
“Darren brings deep market and technical experience to complement the global capability of Zurich’s international corporate life and pensions business,” Mr Delaney said.
“Group insurance is a key growth platform for Zurich Australia; one where we have significant opportunity and capability since our acquisition of OnePath Life. Darren’s appointment is symbolic of our commitment to existing superannuation partners and our ambition for further growth.”
Mr Wickham’s appointment is effective from March.
It follows a recent round of executive appointments made at Zurich.
