Prior to that, Vamos was the director, financial services regulation – licensing and business operations at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) for more than six years, in which she was responsible for running projects to develop the internal capabilities of the organisation.

She also holds roles on a number of other organisation boards, including chair and president of the Governance Institute of Australia, non-executive board member for Mercer Superannuation Trust, chair of K2fly, and non-executive director for Chief Executive Women.

Speaking on her recent appointment, Vamos said she is pleased to be taking on the new role.

“I am delighted and honoured to join the Zurich Assure board and look forward to working alongside fellow board members and the broader team to evolve its operations and strong customer offering,” Vamos said.

The head of Zurich Assure, Sandhya Maini, said Vamos’ industry experience will help push the organisation towards its future goals.

“Ms Vamos brings extensive experience and capability across leadership, strategy and social responsibility which will play an integral role as Zurich Assure continues its digital advancement and focus on making financial advice more accessible and affordable for Australians,” Maini said.

Vamos joins existing board members, non-executive director and chair of the approved product list committee Matthew Drennan and non-executive directors Kieran Forde and Matthew Reilly.
