Ifa’s parent company, Momentum Media, hosted the sixth annual Women in Finance Awards cocktail luncheon today (Thursday, 3 November) at The Star in Sydney to celebrate the successes of the leading women in the finance industry.

Run with the support of principal partner Mortgage Choice (part of REA Group), the Women in Finance Awards recognise the outstanding contributions of the best and brightest women who are going above and beyond for their clients, while propelling the finance industry forward.

It was open to CEOs, entrepreneurs, executives, innovators, mentors, thought leaders, as well as young leaders who are leading the profession into the future.

Over 680 members of the finance industry were in attendance to cheer on 249 finalists competing for 24 individual and five company submission-based categories.

All eyes were on who would receive the prestigious Women in Finance Excellence Award (given to the highest-scoring winner from the individual award categories).

Law firm King & Wood Mallesons’ senior associate, Paula Nassif, won the 2022 Excellence Award after picking up the Banking and Finance Lawyer of the Year award earlier in the day.

Individual wealth categories included Financial Adviser of the Year and Fintech Leader of the Year, while an insurance company won the Training and Development Program of the Year award.

Women were also recognised for their successes and hard work in mortgage and finance broking, accounting and tax, and self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) advice.

Stand-up comedian, author, radio and television presenter, Cal Wilson, provided the entertainment while attendees let their hair down, networked with the industry, and celebrated the successes of their peers.

The keynote speech was delivered by Bianca Hartge-Hazelman, co-founder, editor and CEO at female finance publication Financy.

Commenting on the winners, ifa and InvestorDaily editor, Maja Garaca Djurdjevic, said: “I would like to congratulate all the winners and thank everyone that joined us at this year’s Women in Finance Awards.

“2022 has come with its own set of challenges, but it’s been incredibly inspiring to see how you’ve once again successfully navigated through unchartered territory.

“Thank you for celebrating with us the outstanding achievements of women in the professional and financial services industry right across the country, and those whose perseverance, hard work and innovation have led the way for the sector.”

Ifa and Momentum Media would like to thank all of its partners for their invaluable support, including:

  • Principal partner: Mortgage Choice (part of REA Group)
  • Platinum partner: ANZ
  • Gold partners: Adelaide Bank, Australian Finance Group (AFG), CPA Australia, the Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA), Mazars, the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA), outsource Financial, and Thrive4Women
