Viola Private Wealth has named its newest partner, in a move the firm said highlights its “commitment to recognising outstanding talent from within”.

Nevill, who prior to a career in financial advice, played cricket professionally for more than a decade, including 17 tests for Australia, moved to Viola Private Wealth at its inception in September 2024.

He had also worked alongside Charlie Viola, Sean Ward and Andrew Levi at Pitcher Partners Sydney Wealth Management.

“Peter’s appointment is a proud moment for Viola Private Wealth. Having made the move alongside Charlie, Andrew and myself, he has made a significant contribution to our clients and our culture. He embodies the values we hold most dear, clarity, purpose and a relentless focus on doing the right thing,” Viola Private Wealth chief executive Sean Ward said.

“As we continue to grow, it’s critical we grow in the right way. That means investing in people like him who lead with both capability and character.”

The firm added that Nevill has built “strong, enduring relationships” with the firm’s clients.

“I’m incredibly proud to become a partner of Viola Private Wealth,” Nevill said.

“Having worked closely with Charlie, Sean and Andrew for many years, I knew I wanted to be part of this journey from the start and focus my energies on building something very special with them at Viola Private Wealth.

“It’s been rewarding to grow with a team so committed to client service and ambitious about being the best known private wealth firm. I’m excited about the future and to continue working closely with our clients to deliver the outcomes that have material impacts on their lives over time.”

Viola Private Wealth spun out of the Pitcher Partners Sydney office late last year and caters to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients and has over $2.5 billion in assets under management.

In February, the firm appointed former Mutual Trust director of wealth Angus Mann as a financial adviser.

With 17 years of experience in the financial services industry, Mann has earned a reputation as a “conservative, safe pair of hands” with an “encyclopedic knowledge”, according to the firm.

He had previously served as a private wealth manager for Morgans Financial and held a number of positions at Bell Potter Securities, starting as a dealer’s assistant and progressing to associate adviser and later a private client adviser.

“His depth of experience and strong alignment with our client-first philosophy make him a perfect fit for Viola Private Wealth,” Ward said at the time.

“Angus’ ability to guide families through the complexities of wealth management, while always prioritising their broader goals, will be a tremendous asset to our clients.

“Bringing Angus onto the team is a clear sign that Viola Private Wealth is achieving its objective of attracting the industry’s best talent as the firm continues to grow. A trusted family adviser, Mann is highly regarded by clients who often describe him as ‘a member of the family’.”
