Mr Robert shares his and the Liberal party’s views on the final report of the Quality of Advice Review and why they support its adoption in full, explaining why Minister Stephen Jones’ proposed review of the review is an insufficient response.

“It’s like an episode of Monty Python. You’ve got a Minister presiding now over the Ministry of Silly Walks. This Michelle Levy review is an outstanding piece of work. The Coalition believes it should be implemented in full and implemented now,” the shadow minister says.

Mr Robert also reflects on how the adviser industry fared under the Coalition and explains why FASEA was an act of “desperation”.

The shadow minister doesn’t hold back and accuses the Labor party of holding advisers at an arm’s length.

MP Stuart Robert doesn’t hold back with his take on QAR, FASEA and ALP, yet his recollection seems skewed and forgetful to what actually happened, so I’m wondering if he can handle an equally frank reply from an industry that has been decimated by the Liberal Parties actions. Many of us believe FASEA was a hatchet job to exterminate Financial Planners Mr Robert, and we didn’t appreciate it which is why you were all voted out. Your so-called wide consultation net was limited to those that would benefit from the extermination program with the institutional vertical integration model you’ve proposed. There was no impact study conducted, and now an industry that was once a main contributor to our national GDP is in decline. Beat your chest with your political grand-standing all you like in chorus with your inner circle cronnies, we all know the truth. It’s about time you hang your head in complete shame and reflect on why the Liberal Party is now so reviled. You made a massive mistake; admit it. Recoil! A return of respect is needed, otherwise you will languish in political no-mans land forever and a day!

The Coalition was too scared to take the time to give due consideration to the impact of the Hayne RC recommendations on the advice industry and more importantly to consumers. They did not care when told of the impact. They have had terribly incompetent Ministers in charge of Financial Services for several years. They are now blaming the associations. However they are elected representatives and their job is to listen to everyone. They are responsible for the mess we are in. Labor quietly let them decimate the advice industry. The Coalition did the job that Labor wanted done so there is no one to question super funds. No one expected anything else from Labor. But no one expected the Coalition to be so uncaring and incompetent.

We know that Labor will cherry pick what helps their industry super fund mates. But more was expected from the Coalition who let us down so badly. It is better for advisers when the Coalition are in Opposition. That’s the only time they try and understand the issues. Once in government, they don’t care, don’t listen and don’t try to understand the issues.

total lies, he makes untrue claims. He adds no value and throws insults in the way that an unintelligent heckler would do. This guy does not serve himself nor his party in any way whatsoever, let alone the industry. What a disgrace

Mr Robert has no credibility with me. The Coalition stuffed the advice industry over 11 years. And any man who confuses the ethics of lying to the public about Robo-debt because of a POLITICAL contrivance ( not in law, not in the Constitution) called Cabinet solidarity, should not be listened to by any adviser. If Mr Jones is in a Ministry of Silly Walks, Mr Robert is in the Dead Parrot sketch, in the cage!
