Returning for its sixth year, the ifa Excellence Awards, partnered by Colonial First State, recognises the outstanding work done by the independent and non-aligned advice community, including advisers, licensees, support staff and practices.

The awards are a chance to celebrate an industry that has a turbulent 12 months said ifa editor James Mitchell.

“The ifa Excellence Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of the men and women leading the pack in an industry that continues to face significant challenges,” said Mr Mitchell.

The awards go beyond simply honouring the best planners, said Mr Mitchell, as it was a chance to celebrate a sector that helped guide customers to better financial futures.

“Given the tumultuous 12 months we’ve had, the 2019 Excellence Awards event goes far beyond simply honouring the best financial planning professionals in each category. It is a night to come together and celebrate the collective spirit of the Australian financial advice sector – a profession that strives to be a guiding light in the lives of its customers,” he said.

“This is also a fantastic opportunity to help us shine a light on newcomers, those who are carving a niche in the industry and will play a central role in the future of the wealth management profession.”

Previous finalists and winners of the ifa Excellence Awards have reported significant business advantages from participation in the program, including successful marketing and client acquisition efforts.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce that submissions are now open for the 2019 awards, which will be taking place in Sydney later this year. Be sure to nominate your peers and help us uncover the leading financial advisers and advice practices in Australia,” said Mr Mitchell.

Submissions can be made here until Friday, 28 June, or make a nomination here.
