TAL has announced the 2025 course program for TAL Risk Academy, its education platform for advisers, professional year candidates and support staff.

This year there will be five streams available for students, including foundations, professional year, advice, business management and working with TAL, which was launched in 2024.

Notably, new training for client support staff has been introduced with the 2025 Risk Academy program, designed to make day-to-day tasks easier by streamlining administration and client engagement processes and improving retention conversations.

To better facilitate advisers’ learning, TAL has also launched a new learning platform this year with full access to on-demand courses, webinars, masterclasses and articles, in addition to a built-in continuing professional development (CPD) tracker and mobile access, helping users stay up to date on their progress.

Meanwhile, this year will see the return of TAL’s Ethics Month program in May for its third year, with more panel sessions.

Notably, the launch of the 2025 program marks 10 years of TAL Risk Academy, with 118,000 enrolments and 185,483 CPD points awarded since it began operation in 2015.

Reflecting on the last decade of the academy, TAL general manager, retail sales and new business Beau Riley said the firm is proud to have supported advisers at every stage of their careers.

“At TAL Risk Academy, we’ve always been focused on equipping advisers with the knowledge and skills they need to keep pace with industry and regulatory changes – along with Australians’ evolving advice needs,” Riley said.

“Our program is built around adviser feedback, ensuring our course offerings reflect what advisers have told us they need most to provide their clients with relevant, valuable advice.”

Riley also noted the positive impact that the Risk Academy has had by helping students who would have otherwise been unable to access an education due to financial constraints.

“Fees from TAL Risk Academy’s masterclasses go directly to the Australian Business Community Network, supporting young, high-potential students who have faced significant barriers to accessing quality education. To date, we’ve donated an incredible $860,000,” he said.

“With a decade of expertise behind us, TAL Risk Academy continues to innovate to empower advisers to feel ready for tomorrow.”
