TAL launches skin cancer initiative

Life insurer TAL has initiated a campaign to raise awareness of skin cancer and encourage Australians to undertake spot checks with a medical professional.

TAL has sponsored the establishment of several pop-up clinics that will offer the public free skin checks for signs of cancer.

The clinics will be set up at iconic Australian locations, including Sydney’s Bondi Beach, Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, Federation Square in Melbourne, Henley Beach in Adelaide and Perth’s City Beach.

TAL says the initiative is part of its mission to encourage healthy living and wellbeing.

“Skin cancer is one of Australia’s most common cancers, with almost 14,000 people affected every year, but it is also one of the most easily detectable and preventable. Through TAL SpotChecker, we’re aiming to reduce the impact of skin cancer through increased awareness and action around skin checks,” said TAL general manager, health services, Sally Phillips.

    No doubt those with negative results will then be hounded by one of TAL’s dodgy direct groups to buy some junk direct life insurance?

    Good work TAL but the highest incidence of skin cancer in NSW is actually in Northern NSW. May I think you look outside Sydney, Melbourne and Perth next year.
