When and how did your business start?

We were established by our Founder David Brown, the day after the October 1987 Black Monday crash.

What are the key values the company inspires within its staff.

Our Core Purpose: We are Your Wealth Partner. We exist to bring a breadth of expertise to what matters most.

Values:

We provide heroic customer service to our clients.

We have a relentless commitment to excellence.

We hire and develop outrageously talented people that have each other’s backs.

We demonstrate constant agility and innovate fearlessly.

What’s your business’s approach to customer service that separates you from the rest?

A highly professional approach that incorporates market leading technical expertise across investments, tax, insurance, and strategic advice.

Exceptional service standards delivering peace of mind to our clients.

Our Heart. We advise with strength and empathy.

Our Culture. We provide leadership to our staff and clients that is ambitious yet vulnerable, challenging but consistent.

How does the business innovate and stay ahead of industry trends?

We actively leverage technology to enhance both employee and client experiences. In 2019, we embraced workplace flexibility by migrating to the cloud, ensuring seamless operations and accessibility. In 2021, we launched an SB app that enables secure communication, document sharing, and digital signatures, further streamlining client interactions.

We also integrate artificial intelligence to drive efficiency and productivity, optimising our processes and service delivery. Our commitment to innovation extends to continuously evolving our product offerings, strategic approach, and services to meet the ever-changing needs of current and future clients.

What is the toughest challenge your business has faced the last 2 years? How did it overcome this challenge?

Over the past two years, our primary focus has been on developing a robust infrastructure to support our expanding advice team and position the business for future growth. Building for anticipated clients and revenue, before they materialise, posed a unique challenge. This effort was further compounded by inflationary pressures affecting staffing, technology, and various support services.

To address these challenges, we prioritised organic growth, carefully scaling operations to align with the infrastructure we established. This deliberate approach has been supported by our shareholders as a strategic investment in the long-term success of the firm.

What are the business’s goals for the next 5 years?

Our vision is to be recognised as the premier workplace for advisers and employees and the top choice for clients. We aim to achieve sustainable growth primarily through organic means, while remaining open to strategic opportunities for inorganic expansion.

In 2025, we will proudly welcome our eighth team member to commence their professional year with the firm, reflecting our commitment to developing talent and fostering new careers in financial advice. By expanding our adviser team, we aim to reach more Australians and contribute meaningfully to addressing the advice shortfall in the industry.
