Risk adviser takes top gong at industry awards

A risk adviser has been recognised with the top honour at the ifa Excellence Awards at an event in Sydney.

Katherine Hayes of Tiffen and Co Insurance Services was last night awarded the ifa Excellence Award in recognition of her work within the financial services industry.

In addition to the overall honour, the panel of judges chose Ms Hayes as the winner of both the Risk Adviser of the Year and Client Services of the Year categories.

Ms Hayes said she aimed to treat each client as though they were a close family member, and attributed this approach to her success.

There were 17 award categories, each recognising the achievements of outstanding businesses and professionals within the financial services industry.

“The winners of the ifa Excellence Awards reflect the very best financial advice available to Australian consumers and we are honoured to recognise their achievements this evening,” said Risk Adviser editor Aleks Vickovich.

The winners of the 2017 ifa Excellence Awards are:

Innovator of the Year (Individual): Phil Thompson, Thompson Financial Services

Risk Adviser of the Year: Katherine Hayes, Tiffen & Co Insurance Services

SMSF Adviser of the Year: Shane Nicholas, Innate Financial Services Group

Dealer Group Executive of the Year: Philippa Sheehan, MyPlanner Professional              

New Licensee of the Year: Experience Wealth

Client Service of the Year (Individual): Katherine Hayes, Tiffen & Co Insurance Services

Holistic Adviser of the Year: Michael Phillips, Phillips Family Office

Practice Principal of the Year: Jonathan Elliot, Collins SBA

Investment Adviser of the Year: Brett Evans, Atlas Wealth Management            

Innovator of the Year (Company): Map My Plan              

Client Service of the Year (Company): VISIS Private Wealth

Holistic Advice Firm of the Year: VISIS Private Wealth

Boutique Advice Firm of the Year: Momentum Planning

Goals-Based Adviser of the Year: Michelle Tate-Lovery, Unified Financial Services Pty Ltd

Dealer Group of the Year: InterPrac Financial Planning

Industry Thought Leader of the Year: Will Hamilton, Hamilton Wealth Management
