According to publisher Russell Stephenson, SMSF specialists – including financial advisers, accountants, lawyers, auditors and other related professionals – now have a focused resource for daily news, analysis, opinion and interpretation of the key issues, legislation and challenges that influence the development of the SMSF advice sector.

“The SMSF sector now accounts for over 480,000 funds, representing more than 900,000 members and one third of the $1.4 trillion in superannuation monies,” Stephenson said.

“It’s a rapidly growing sector and we’re committed to supporting the growth not only of the SMSF advice industry but also the skills of the advisers working within it.

“SMSF Adviser has been created to enhance the capabilities of SMSF professionals, equipping them with the tools, techniques, knowledge and strategies to better service their SMSF clients while helping them realise the business benefits of specialising in SMSFs.

In addition, the website will help the sometimes disparate SMSF advice profession engage in debate and share best practice while exchanging client experiences and drawing on the collective knowledge of SMSF professionals.

“Education is central to the SMSF sector and the site will host forum discussions, straw polls, social networking and use other interactive media to connect SMSF advice specialists,” Stephenson said.

“This is a unique site that will continue to expand in line with the evolving SMSF advice sector.”
