Commenting on Lonsec’s partnership, executive director of sales and service Marc Hraiki said the firm is “proud” to participate in the 10th annual awards.

“For over 20 years, Lonsec has been helping advisers build and maintain robust investment portfolios to achieve the return outcome for their clients,” he told ifa.

“It is due to this long-held and deep commitment to supporting the investment capabilities of financial advisers that we are delighted to be a gold partner in this year’s ifa Excellence Awards.”

Mr Hraiki added that recognising independent financial advisers for their dedication to working in their clients’ best interests and improving their financial wellbeing is crucial.

“Financial advisers are the custodians of the household wealth of Australians. In an ever-changing environment it is so important to recognise the leaders in the industry and celebrate those who show commitment to their clients, colleagues, and the advice industry as a whole,” Mr Hraiki said.

Launched in 2014, the unparalleled ifa Excellence Awards program showcases the depth of talent in the Australian financial advice industry and identifies the leading advice practices and independent advisers propelling the industry forward.

Over 245 finalists will battle it out for the awards across 17 individual and 12 group submissions-based categories that were on offer this year.

Individual categories included Holistic Adviser of the Year, Investment Adviser of the Year, and Practice Principal of the Year.

Candidates could also choose from group categories like Best Financial Advice Employer, Digital Advice Strategy of the Year, and Self-Licensed Firm of the Year.

Winning an award helps advice practices and individual advisers distinguish themselves from their competitors, pinpoint professional development and innovation, strengthen their position in the industry, elevate their personal brand, and unlock new career opportunities.

Winners are determined by a highly respected judging panel that includes academics, business executives, entrepreneurs, and innovators. Click here to view the methodology.

The awards were open to all businesses and individuals operating in Australia supporting the industry, including adviser networks, dealer groups and their executives, risk and SMSF advisers, and paraplanners, as well as innovators and the rising stars of tomorrow.

The awards program will culminate in a black-tie gala ceremony on Wednesday, 6 December 2023 at the Four Seasons, Sydney. Click here to buy tickets.

The ceremony presents an opportunity for members of the independent financial advice industry to network with leaders, colleagues, and their peers.
