The free one-day think tank-style conference – which will be held in November in Sydney – will bring together industry experts, thought leaders, mentors, peers, and regulatory bodies to discuss accessibility and affordability in the advice sector as well as new innovations.

Speakers confirmed for the event include AIOFP executive director Peter Johnston, Money Mentor’s Adele Martin, 9rok founder Kim Payne, business coach Stewart Bell, Stewart Partners’ Brendon Vade, Lifespan Financial Planning chief executive Eugene Ardino, Burman Invest chief investment officer Julia Lee, and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission’s Leah Sciacca.

This will be followed by the ifa Excellence Awards 2021 to celebrate the achievements of the independent financial advice industry at the event of the year.

The awards – which will be held in person this year after being live-streamed in 2020 – recognise both individuals and firms that are leading the way in the industry, and showcase professional development and innovation.

“We’re really pleased to be partnering with IFA for their upcoming Future Forum and Excellence Awards,” MetLife chief distribution officer Michael Mulholland said.

“It’s been a difficult year for advisers and their clients, and getting together as an industry at these two events will be an important opportunity for advisers to reconnect and refresh.

“Now is a great time to look towards the future of the industry and recognise those delivering excellence this year.”

The ifa Future Forum 2021 will begin at 8am at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney on 17 November, while the ifa Excellence Awards 2021 will be held in person at 6:30pm.

In-person ticket numbers are limited in line with COVID-19 restrictions for both events, and ticket allocations will be created on a first come, first served basis.
