Lonsec announces integration of managed account solutions

The firm has launched its listed managed portfolios within Implemented Portfolios’ individually managed account service.

Lonsec has announced an integration of its Lonsec Investment Solutions and Implemented Portfolios’ (IPL) managed account solutions, with the stated goal of providing advisers and their clients with a broader suite of investment options.

The move, which follows the acquisition of IPL by Lonsec last year, means that Lonsec’s listed managed portfolios are now available within IPL’s individually managed account (IMA) service.

According to Lonsec, advisers and investors who utilise its listed managed portfolios via IPL will be able to benefit from similar inclusions of the regular IMA service offered by IPL.

These include easy-to-adopt model portfolios, an ability to tailor investments based on the preferences of individual clients, and regular adviser-branded economic and investment commentary written and sent to clients.

Lonsec Investment Solutions chief investment officer Lukasz De Pourbaix explained that the portfolios draw on Lonsec Research’s investment product research and only invest in listed structures such as ETFs which receive a rating of “Recommended” or higher.

“All of Lonsec’s managed portfolios combine our extensive expertise in portfolio construction, asset allocation and investment selection with our best ideas to offer portfolios that meet the needs of a broad range of investors,” he said.

“Offering these portfolios via the IPL IMA service will now allow advisers and their clients the flexibility and individual tailoring that the IMA investment vehicle provides.”

IPL was originally acquired in August 2022, forming part of Lonsec’s strategic aim to enhance the investment opportunities available to investors and further meet the changing needs of advisers.

“We are delighted to be integrating both of these best-in-class solutions, and in doing so, offering advisers and their clients access to more choice and individualisation when selecting appropriate investment options,” said Lonsec chief executive officer and IPL managing director Michael Wright.

Lonsec confirmed that the integrated solution is now available via the Netwealth platform, having gone live on Tuesday, 21 March.
