A recent surge in fundraising of $51,000 has pushed the total raised by Genesys over the $1 million mark since its first donation in 1999.

The milestone was reached at the recent Genesys adviser conference, with Genesys managing director Tim Steele referring to the sponsorship of the charity as being “in the fabric of the Genesys business”.

“I know from first-hand experience that Children First is a charity that is very close to the hearts of Genesys advisers,” Mr Steele said.

“To reach $1 million in donations is a fantastic achievement and is a reflection of the importance of community for these advisers, with many participating in various ways to assist the foundation.”

In addition, the conference also highlighted the achievements of advisers, with the presentation of its annual adviser recognition awards.

Sydney-based practice Stanford Brown was awarded Member Firm of the Year for the third year in a row, as a result of “the firm’s strong business strategy and operations, and its commitment to quality advice processes”.

FHM’s Aaron Klumpp was presented with the Richard Harvey award, which recognises an up-and-coming adviser who makes a significant contribution to their business and to Genesys.

Finally, Varria Wealth’s Peter Audet was presented with the Ballesty Sikkema award, which honours an adviser who is a strong role model and mentor to their peers.
