FPA’s CEO on guiding clients through the COVID-19 crisis

On this episode of The ifa Show, CEO of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) Dante De Gori provides his take on navigating the current climate as a financial adviser.

Reading Time: 1 min read

Dante joins host Sarah Kendell to reveal what the FPA is doing to support advisers through this uncertain time, whether changes to rules around opt-in arrangements need to be applied, and which bodies should be addressing the issue of CPD obligations on advisers.

Tune in to hear Dante share how COVID-19 has justifiably shifted the government’s priorities in regard to passing new bills, the key ways advisers can set up their practice to work remotely, and the issues that will be tackled in the FPA’s future of financial advice model, launching later this year.

Reading the below comments, and man there is a lot of hating going on here Surely this guy has to go. What an embarrassment to be an FPA member.

Hey Dopey De Gamey, will Sam Henderson be there with you wiping the dribble off your mouth after you dribble rubbish with Sarah Kendell? Sarah, you should know given the chance Dopey will throw you under the bus, wont you Dopey? With some amazing people having CEO after their name, what a blight on the title having you with it, what are you the CEO of? CEO of Protecting crooks or CEO of Big Banks protection Dope. You really are irrelevant.

Its good to see IFA putting a comedy show on for us, we need a good laugh and to watch a walking , talking , joke fumble about and try to be relevant like this person. Can you get someone that is actually funny next time though?

Looking forward to the next thrilling podcast on how you handle complaints from Clients Mr Magoo…. You can view his hints and tips at the Royal Commission site. I sometimes get physically sick when I hear that Dinosaurs name. Professionalism is not belonging to the FPA.

We are already doing that for our client Dante, and we do not need your help with it either. In the wash up a lot of businesses and associations may go the way of the dianasours. We do not need two groups representing us, time for a merger between the FPA and the AFA or for one to cease to exist.

Interesting to hear from Dante. Especially comment around potential flexibility on Grandfathered Commissions in the current climate. Unfortunately, the larger providers are locked-in to pull the remove them in the next couple of months, so I think we have missed the boat on that one.

Dante where were you when we needed you in years gone by? I like so many have zero interest in being lectured to now given you had no interest in your own members futures in previous years and now you are just trying to justify you salary…

How many members have you lost exactly but do you even care I think not.
