Face-to-face sittings will be offered at metropolitan and regional locations throughout Australia and will be run over multiple days, up to twice a day.

Alternatively, face-to-face sittings are available for advisers choosing to sit the exam remotely at a preferred time during the exam sitting window.

The sittings in 2021 are as follows:

  • Sitting one has a sitting date of 28 January to 2 February, with registration due during 5 October 2020 to 8 January 2021;
  • Sitting two has a sitting date of 25 March to 30 March, with registration dates to be confirmed;
  • Sitting three has a sitting date of 20 May to 25 May, with registration dates to be confirmed;
  • Sitting four has a sitting date of 15 July to 20 July, with registration dates to be confirmed;
  • Sitting five has a sitting date of 9 September to 14 September, with registration dates to be confirmed; and
  • Sitting six has a sitting date of 4 November to 9 November, with registration dates to be confirmed.

FASEA chief executive Stephen Glenfield said there had been a strong performance by most advisers so far, with 86 per cent on average passing each exam on the first sitting.

“So nearly nine out of ten of the existing advisers who have sat the exam have prepared well and demonstrated they have the skill to apply their knowledge of advice construction, ethics and legal requirements to the practical scenarios tested in the exam,” Mr Glenfield said.

FASEA introduced remote sitting options from April, in response to COVID-19 restrictions.

There are still three remaining exam sittings in 2020, in August, October and November.

    Aaurghh….suppose I will have to do this soon. Might see if I can book into see the dentist and see my protologist on the same day. At least 2 out of the 3 things will be worthwhile.
