Running for the second year, the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA) has announced its 2024 roadshow series.

The association said the overarching theme for the roadshow is “Building Efficiencies”, with sessions focusing on business improvements, showcasing best practice, and ethical growth in business.

The roadshow will travel to 10 cities across Australia: Albury Wodonga on 30 April, Sydney on 3 May, Canberra on 6 May, Melbourne on 8 May, Hobart on 9 May, Mackay on 13 May, Orange on 17 May, Brisbane on 21 May, Adelaide on 23 May, and Perth on 24 May.

Tania Milnes, general manager of membership at FAAA, said the roadshow is an opportunity for advisers to network and learn from colleagues.

“The sessions have been designed to provide advisers with valuable information that will help them work more effectively and efficiently,” Milnes said.

“This includes managing compliance requirements and using technology to streamline the advice process.

“In addition, the session with Dr Katherine Hunt from Ardentura Consulting will look at ethical growth strategies to achieve client best practice outcomes.”

In the session, Dr Hunt will explore the ethical dilemmas in financial advice, ethical business growth and deliver key takeaways advisers can implement to improve efficiency and achieve client best practice outcomes.

FAAA chair David Sharpe and deputy chair Michelle Veitch will provide an overview of FAAA membership and the financial industry as a whole.

Sarah Abood, chief executive of the FAAA, will provide an update on a variety of key member initiatives the association is currently working on, while general manager of policy and advocacy Phil Anderson will deliver a thorough briefing on the current priorities and focus of the policy and advocacy teams.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) will also be running a session at the events, providing an update on some of the key legislative areas for the financial advice profession.

Christina Kalantzis, founding director of Alexis Compliance and Risk Solutions, and Travis Carter, director of Retrac, will also have a session at the roadshow, discussing some of the compliance challenges advisers are facing and how new technologies and AI can be used to increase efficiency and streamline the advice process.

Each roadshow will also feature a session showcasing best practice and will also highlight the 2023 FAAA award winners.

Members who attend at least 80 per cent of each session will earn up to five CPD hours.
