In a communication to members – seen by ifa – the MDRT Oceania chapter revealed that 27-year MDRT member Ross Vanderwolf has been appointed to the executive committee and will become president in four years’ time.
“Australia will have [its] first MDRT president,” the communication proclaimed.
Mr Vanderwolf is a Certified Financial Planner and principal of Rothgard Financial Partners in Brisbane – an authorised representative of AMP-aligned Charter Financial Planning.
He has held a number of leadership roles within the MDRT network including trustee of the MDRT Foundation Board, member of the finance committee and divisional vice president of the 2014 membership division.
MDRT Oceania chair Ross Hultgren said the appointment is an ”amazing recognition of the value of Australian Advisers in the international arena of financial services”.

Unreal, Query and confused show how little they know about the History of this industry!MDRT is a wonderful learning entity to belong too! but you need to qualify,end of you two right there! lst shower jobs both of them,waste of breath even responding, but it is Ill informed individuals that continue to undermine this Industry! One day Confused and Query you may have to actually build,create,develop,start your own business,help,help,help i hear!
Is this really a positive?
@Query & @Confused
1. We all like to get paid. Whether commissions or fee for service. There are a number of advisers happy to charge more upfront and not take a commission, and if that is what the client wants, great. Advice needs to be paid for, either by product provider or client.
2. Stop being a troll.
Does the Million in MDRT refer to the clients???
I still don’t understand how clients agree to pay a premium of say $10,000 and their adviser gets $12,000.
FOFA didn’t quite do what it was meant to!
This is fantastic news. Congratulations Ross. What wonderful recognition for Australia and our Industry.
Are we still patting practitioners in our industry on the back for earning a lot of commissions? Are we still allowed to do that?
Congratulations Ross. Great recognition for your contribution to MDRT and industry.
