In a statement, AMP said support measures for impacted clients include:

  • Waiving of certain bank fees for customers requiring urgent access to their funds;
  • Temporarily postponing home loan repayments or extending the term of a loan;
  • If the ATO has assessed that a customer is eligible on compassionate grounds, releasing superannuation funds early to help with medical and other expenses; and
  • A one-off three-month waiver from paying AMP life, total and permanent disability, trauma, income protection and business expenses insurance premiums.

In addition, its charitable arm, the AMP Foundation, has announced financial assistance to all impacted rural fire brigades where our employees and advisers volunteer.

The move follows a commitment from the Association of Financial Advisers and the Financial Planning Association of Australia of pro bono support to members affected by the bushfires.

      $1.86 as of this morning so clearly very few people share your view. Capital is the only division worth anything, the rest is worthless. Keep up your posts and the misplaced faith Gaz. Maybe buy some stock.

    AMP should be doing all of the above anyway? :-/

      What is it that you mean, AMP should offer disaster relief in all disaster cases…Did someone say they were not doing that? can you give an example? Or are you saying that they should waive fees, loan repayments and give free advice for everyone in Australia just because in your opinion that would be a good thing to do?
