North announced the new role would be occupied by financial services executive Kristine Goodwin.
“The creation of this new senior role, and Kristine’s appointment, aligns with AMP’s focus on accelerating the growth of the North business and its commitment to broadening its adviser and partner relationships,” North said.
North highlighted that Goodwin brings extensive experience from her career in executive-level distribution and marketing roles. This includes chief country officer and executive director Australia at Milford Asset Management and previously chief distribution officer for life and investments at Zurich Financial Services Australia.
“At Milford, Kristine led the transformation of the business in Australia, building a high- performing distribution team, significantly increasing adviser brand awareness, and achieving top business results for the flagship Australian Equity fund,” North explained.
It added: “Prior to Milford, Kristine spent 16 years at Zurich Financial Services Australia, including as chief distribution officer for Life and Investments. In this role, she led all market-facing activity and strategy, achieving record sales and growing market share to number one in Australia.”
Goodwin holds a Diploma of Financial Services from the Securities Institute of Australia and has completed executive programs at the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Wharton Business School.
“We are excited to be welcoming Kristine to AMP,” said Edwina Maloney, group executive, platforms, AMP.
“Her deep experience and leadership transforming distribution and marketing teams, developing deep strategic partnerships and growing businesses will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our relationships with advisers and partners, and deliver great outcomes for their clients.”
Maloney also took to the opportunity to address AMP North’s overall ambition and strategy for growth.
“We have very clear growth ambitions for North and this is another important step to delivering on those and continuing the significant momentum we have built with advisers more recently,” she said.
“We have worked hard and built a very strong adviser proposition, which was cemented earlier this year, when we won the Chant West Award for Advised Product of the Year, along with being awarded for our North Lifetime Product.”
Maloney concluded: “So now it is about getting North in front of more advisers so they can experience it for themselves, and Kristine’s appointment is critical to that.”
Goodwin is set to start her new role at AMP North from 21 January 2026.
