In a statement released on Wednesday, ASIC said Anthony Dick had pleaded guilty to the offences under the Criminal Code Act 1899 (Queensland) on 30 March.
The offences related to “dishonestly applying to his own use, property belonging to another” contrary to section 408C(1)(a) of the act.
The regulator’s case alleges that Mr Dick accessed around $1.1 million from his clients’ super, pension and savings accounts between 2006 and 2017, which was used to fund his personal lifestyle.
The charges carry maximum penalties of between 10 and 14 years’ imprisonment.
The matter is being prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, with Mr Dick set to appear in Townsville District Court at a date yet to be set.
ASIC said Mr Dick had co-operated with their investigation and pleaded guilty to the offences early.

Guess who the AFSL were over his advice / offending journey? According to the FAR;
Jigsaw (AMP) 2004 to 12, GWM (NAB) 12 to 14 and lastly Synchronised 14 to 18.

Meanwhile, AMP and the likes get the green light
Isn’t AMP Jigsaw simply service provider to self licenced AFSL’s ??
Wow, what fool would do this let alone scumbag
10-14 years maximum?? This guy should be locked up for life with no parole. And how he got away with it for so long is another disgrace.
See we are all crooks who steal and can’t be trusted ! Until we have more regulation – daily opt in, fee per page, guaranteed refund of fees going back 25 years – we will never be seen as a profession !
Regulation does not stop dishonesty, wake up. There are dishonest lawyers who are plundering client accounts as we speak, but they will NEVER have to go through what the financial services industry is going through because they have strong representation, back each other, even the dishonest ones and what is more to the point, make up the rules for everyone else. 18000+ financial planners 70,000 lawyers says it all.
yeah but you have to be dishonest to be a lawyer.
12 years !!!! to catch him!!!!
Oh! I despair of these people…..how do they think that they can steal such large amounts of money and expect to get away with it?
And…..they get the Government, ASIC and Society against us!!!
Cue the “Dick” comments….
What a Dick
Dickhead!!
and it took them 12 years to grab him…
Well he was in the prong on this occasion.
Dickscraceful.
