CountPlus appoints group chief risk officer

Advice network CountPlus has appointed a new group chief risk officer.

CountPlus has announced Lisa Chambers will commence as the company’s group chief risk officer on 27 March 2023.

Ms Chambers has held a number of leadership roles in financial services, most recently serving as general manager of Australian Executor Trustees (AET). AET oversaw more than $6.9 billion in funds under management, and Ms Chambers led the team that sold the business from Insignia to Equity Trustees in 2022 for $135 million.

She also previously held senior executive roles at National Australia Bank, Commonwealth Bank, Colonial First State and BT.

CountPlus chief executive Hugh Humphrey said: “Lisa has a deep understanding of the advisory profession, which is vitally important given the magnitude of work we’re doing to deliver for our Member firms and their clients.”

Ms Chambers said she was excited to be joining CountPlus and helping to build on the success of the business.

“CountPlus is an outstanding business with a culture built around its clients. I’m looking forward to this new challenge and working with a leadership team focused on delivering positive financial outcomes for more Australians,” she said.

This is the latest of a number of high-level appointments over the last year for CountPlus. In October 2022, the company announced the appointment of Raelene Hinchliffe as the company’s new group head of people and culture

The group also welcomed a new CEO in June last year, when Mr Humphrey took over from interim CEO Laurent Toussaint, who was then promoted to chief financial and operating officer.
