The TAL Supporting Grieving Clients Course is run by head of mental health Glenn Baird through its Risk Academy.

TAL head of licensees and partnerships Beau Riley said the course was developed to help advisers gain a greater understanding of the support they can provide customers who may be suffering from grief as well as knowledge on other resources advisers can draw on when their customers need additional help.

“While current education options traditionally offer a lot of course content in the technical space, there is a need for more support in the soft skills space,” Mr Riley said.

“Very little training is available to equip advisers to have the right conversations when their customers are suffering from grief.

“Feedback from advisers tells us that this is the most important area they need to get right to effectively support their customers and that having these skills can be a real differentiator.”

Is this a grief counselling course so advisers can better deal with their own grief, rather than their clients ?
An adviser isn’t of much value to the client if they break into tears regularly, cant sleep , have constant nervous and anxious thought patterns and cant plan correctly due to scattered thought processes and low self esteem.
This is the reality in adviser land right now.

Don’t Sell junk insurance through Australian super would help for starters to help with grief… PR BS trying to look like you support advisers while you stab them in the back saying we don’t work for commissions you grubs… Haven’t see one premium drop since LIF started from any of the companies and then send your BDM in our offices we support you piss off.
