In the area of underwriting, NEOS has appointed Karlton Andrews to the position of senior underwriting risk specialist. In addition to his strong underwriting background, Karlton is recognised as the leading specialist in Australia in the management of underwriting rules engines (URE) and underwriting analytics. Karlton will therefore focus on improving the efficiency of NEOS’s application process.

Prior to NEOS, Karlton worked in a similar role at Asteron Life and was involved in the implementation of the first URE at TAL Life.

Most recently, Tania was technical underwriting manager at Hannover Life Re. Prior to that, Tania was NSW/ACT state manager, underwriting and operations at TAL Life.

In addition to the underwriting team, NEOS has also appointed the following sales managers:

Liam Carroll – business development manager, Qld/NT. Liam has over 12 years’ experience in the life insurance industry. Most recently, Liam was a Business Development Manager for TAL. In 2018, Liam won the ‘Money Management BDM of the year’ award.

Troy Abbott – business development manager, Vic/Tas/SA. Troy has over 20 years’ experience in financial services. Most recently, Troy was the state sales manager for VIC/TAS at AMP.

Geoff Mulray – business development manager NSW/ACT. Geoff has over 10 years’ experience in the life insurance industry. Most recently, Geoff was a senior business development manager at TAL Life.

Bez Erfan – business development manager NSW. Bez has over eight years’ experience in the life insurance industry. Most recently, Bez was a Business Development Manager at BT Life.

“We’re once again excited to have more extremely high caliber individuals join our team,” NEOS Life managing director, Brett Yardley said.

“The fact that we’re able to attract these experienced and respected individuals clearly highlights how successful the launch of NEOS has been and the strength of our future prospects. When working with NEOS, advisers and customers can be confident that they are being assisted by the best people in the industry,” he said.

“Additionally, the appointment of an industry leader such as Karlton also demonstrates our unwavering commitment to continuous improvement. Despite the fact we’ve already exceeded our target and are delivering 82 per cent of underwriting decisions in three working days, we’re determined we can do better. Karlton will help us achieve that.”

NEOS Life is a specialist, Australian life insurance business that offers a comprehensive suite of retail life insurance products available through financial advisers.

NEOS is 100 per cent focused on partnering with financial advisers and does not operate in the direct or group spaces.
