HLB Mann Judd financial adviser Sarah Carli will be heading to Paris to compete in her second Olympic Games, qualifying once again for the 400-metre hurdles.

Carli joined the HLB Mann Judd Wollongong wealth management practice in September 2021, with the firm supporting her dream to compete at the Olympics. Chief among this support is providing the workplace flexibility to ensure she can train, compete, and prepare for the Paris Olympics while maintaining her career as a financial adviser.

Speaking with ifa in October last year, Carli explained it took her “a long time to kind of really work out that work-life balance”.

“It’s been a work in progress and it’s something that I’m constantly trying to get right,” she told ifa.

“I’m sure a lot of people can probably relate to the constant struggle of a work-life balance, but yeah, I think this is the last two years, I think I’ve really got it right, and I think my running has really shown that I’m getting it right now, definitely.”

Tony Fittler, chair of the HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association, said the firm is “immensely proud of Sarah and her achievements”.

“We’re looking forward to cheering her on as she competes at her second Olympic Games at Paris 2024 and we wish her every success in what we expect will be some of the greatest races of her life,” Fittler said.

Carli said her Olympic selection for Paris is the culmination of years of dedication and hard work.

“Balancing work and life with elite sport has been very challenging; it has required some tough choices. HLB Mann Judd has been incredibly supportive and understands how important getting to the Paris Olympics is to me,” she said.

“I see Paris as the pinnacle of my track and field career, and I am doing everything possible to ensure I perform at my best. Through perseverance and patience, I’ve built an environment that brings out the best in me, both on the field and in the workplace.

“Right now, my focus is on Paris. I’m committed to giving it my absolute best. Regardless of the outcome, there will be a sense of closure. Afterwards I know I have an amazing job waiting for me in the HLB Mann Judd Wollongong wealth management practice.

“I am honoured that HLB Mann Judd is sponsoring me and I’m proud to have the opportunity to wear the HLB logo on my race uniform.”
