Midwinter rolls out financial planning software for uni students

Midwinter has teamed up with CQUniversity to provide its advice technology to students undertaking financial planning units.

As part of a new partnership, CQUniversity’s financial planning students will now have access to Midwinter’s financial advice software, with training provided to support students using the platform.

Specifically, the software functions as a comprehensive financial planning solution that digitises end-to-end client management, research, modelling, advice generation, and compliance capabilities.

The software will be rolled out to students studying a bachelor of business, a bachelor of accounting or a bachelor of property studies. Students studying non-business courses but undertaking financial planning units will also be able to access it.

Stacey Cowan, Midwinter head of sales, said the provider is excited to support the development of future qualified financial advisers at CQUniversity by supplying its advice technology during their education. She pointed to this being especially important with adviser numbers continuing to fall across the industry.

“Midwinter’s modules not only allow students to practice and learn new financial planning skills, but also to familiarise themselves with real-life technology as they prepare to enter the workforce and become financial advice professionals,” Ms Cowan said.

Lecturer at CQUniversity’s School of Business and Law, Dr Angelique McInnes said the university is “thrilled” about the opportunity this partnership offers to its students.

“The financial services industry is changing fast — and it is now more critical than ever for current and future professionals to understand how technology can help stay compliant and more efficient,” Dr McInnes concluded.

Midwinter’s financial advice modules will be available to all CQUniversity students undertaking financial planning units from Term 1 2023 onwards.

Adding to its suite of digital advice modules, the financial advice software provider announced the launch of a new goal optimisation engine for financial advisers last August.
