MLC Life rolls out senior appointments

MLC Life has appointed the former CFO of AMP Bank as its new deputy CFO as it sees a period of “significant change” for the industry ahead.

Lesley Mamelok will take on the new role of general manager, finance and deputy CFO. Robert Baillie will step into the new role of general manager for capital management and corporate finance. Both will report directly to CFO Kent Griffin.

“I’m delighted to welcome Lesley and Robert to our team. They are talented individuals and have a wealth of experience in the life insurance industry, which will be invaluable in supporting our strategic direction,” Mr Griffin said.

“Our sector is undergoing significant change. We are bringing in the right expertise to help us navigate these challenges and continue to deliver on the promises we make to our customers and business partners.”
Ms Mamelok was the CFO of AMP Bank between 2013 and 2016, and is a non-executive committee member of AMP Capital. For the past year she has been the acting chief of Integrity Life, where she previously held the role of CFO. She will oversee the financial management of MLC Life, including areas of expense management, investment control, tax, financial accounting, and reporting.

Mr Baillie will be responsible for the overall capital management of the business, including treasury, corporate finance, business planning and reinsurance strategy. He is a qualified actuary with extensive experience in capital management and was previously head of actuarial (capital and ALM) at TAL.
