In a statement, BT said it had appointed Kieran Varcoe, most recently general manager of administration solutions and governance for industry fund Rest, as its new head of platforms.

Mr Varcoe had more than 20 years experience in the wealth platforms sector, having previously headed up MLC’s MasterKey platform in 2018 and 2019 and held the position of head of product management for retail super and investment platforms at MLC prior to that.

“I am delighted that someone with Kieran’s experience will be joining our leadership team,” BT managing director platforms, investments and operations Kathy Vincent said.

“His expertise aligns well with our strategic priorities and will be critical as we continue delivering strategic growth of Australia’s leading platforms business.”

Ms Vincent added that Mr Varcoe would help to “lead BT’s transformation agenda” as it sought to migrate more clients from BT Wrap to Panorama in 2021.

“Kieran’s proven experience in leading simplification programs, managing large-scale platforms teams and operations, and deep industry knowledge will be an asset to BT,” Ms Vincent said.

Mr Varcoe replaces Dina Kotsopolous, who left BT in October 2020 and is now head of wealth at ING Australia.

Better do plenty to fix Asgard and their disastrous rushed, unprepared, pre Legislation fiasco to force Advisers to do Platform FDS Optins.
It has been a completely sad joke, no idea what they are doing, no processes in place, no ability to help Advisers as it’s just a complete train wreck.
So much Adviser time wasted it’s disgusting.
Asgard you have lost many Advisers in this disaster and we will NEVER be placing New business with Asgard / BT again.
Zero trust left in this Institution.

Lots of high paid jobs for the admin people. Meanwhile the frontline retail advisers are going broke.

If only it worked properly his job would be so much easier.
