The wealth management group has announced a number of new appointments to broaden its investment research capabilities.

Ashley Cox will join Ord Minnett’s institutional equities sales team. He has also held roles at Corus Capital, Lehman Brothers, NAB, and Merrill Lynch.

Michael Gerges will join Ord Minnett’s Sydney institutional research team as senior research analyst for healthcare. Mr Gerges joins from Blue Ocean Equities, where he covered the healthcare sector across pharmacy, pharmaceuticals, IVF clinics and diagnostic imaging.

“The new appointments strengthen Ords’ Institutional Research teams’ dominance in stock coverage and analysis,” said head of institutional equities Nick Burmester.

Also joining are James Casey and Nic Burgess as senior research analysts, Luke Macnab as research analyst, and Supun Wijerathna as associate analyst. Malcolm Wood, a “highly regarded investment strategist, portfolio manager and analyst”, will also join the private client research team.
