Why on Earth do we have a Women in Finance award, totally sexist and not required in this current age.
We should be “People in Finance” or something not as discriminatory
What a ridiculous and divisive environment this type of award encourages when I thought the whole idea was one of inclusion and equality.
The AFA still have the Female Excellence in Advice Award and then have the Adviser of the Year and the Practice of the Year in which both genders are able to nominate for.
Imagine if there was a Male Excellence in Advice award and no female only option !
If women financial services want equality then surely this type of situation is undermining their intended outcome.
These specific gender awards need to be dumped immediately as it is sending the wrong message entirely.
It’s equivalent to a men’s only club, where women are not allowed…how well are they accepted in today’s world ?
Have a ‘people in finance’ award and recognise either the best person OR the best male and best female, but only having a female version just perpetuates the inequality & divisiveness.
How about just Finance awards for all genders rather than specifically women? no doubt their was a point in time when this was needed, but in today’s world it becomes more divisive if anything…unite us all i say! Make love not war…
