The federal budget will be unveiled in March.
The government has revealed the budget will be brought forward to 29 March, as the Prime Minister braces for an April or May election.
The budget date was revealed in a parliamentary program tabled on Monday (29 November).
This will be the first time the budget has been delivered in March with May the preferred month.
However, 2022 is an election year and the vote must take place on a Saturday by 21 May.
It was widely expected that the PM would bring the budget forward to give him a foundation on which to campaign.
