AMP has partnered with estateXchange, an online estate management services provider, to integrate a digital estate planning solution onto the AMP North platform.
EstateXchange is designed to facilitate collaboration between financial advisers, accountants, lawyers, institutions and beneficiaries through a single online portal. Information about deceased estates and life insurance claims can be uploaded, verified, shared and progressed on the platform, reducing the likelihood of delays and duplication.
AMP North is the first Australian platform to integrate with estateXchange, a move that AMP group executive, platforms Edwina Maloney said reflects AMP’s commitment to supporting advisers.
“For advisers using North, our partnership with estateXchange complements existing North processes and digital servicing, helping advisers better support their clients through key life events, including intergenerational wealth transfer and retirement transitions,” Maloney said.
“Today’s announcement is all about making it easier to securely share information, provide clearer communication and bring greater structure to the way deceased estate matters are managed.”
AMP director, operations, platforms Sharyn Baker added: “The integration with estateXchange helps streamline how advisers and professional representatives interact with North, giving them a more efficient and transparent way to manage documentation and claims.”
“It underlines North’s commitment to advisers in helping pave the way for a more consistent, digital approach to managing deceased estate administration and related claims, supporting you more effectively in the moments that matter,” Baker said.
Back in April, AMP North launched the Retirement Philosophy framework, which was aimed at helping advice practices manage six categories of risks clients may face when transitioning to retirement.
Those risk categories, collectively referred to as “SMILE+R,” are:
- Sequencing
- Market
- Inflation
- Longevity
- Emotional
- Regret
At the time, AMP’s Retirement Confidence Hub chair, Ben Hillier, said the framework was designed as a discussion aid to support advisers in articulating the risks retirees face and the trade‑offs clients must navigate as they move into retirement.
“Retirement today is no longer a single decision or a short phase of life. Australians are retiring earlier, living longer, and facing more uncertainty than ever before,” Hillier said.
He continued: “Our Retirement Philosophy has been developed to help advice practices step back and articulate how they think about retirement advice – not just the products used, but the risks managed, the client needs prioritised and the outcomes they’re trying to deliver.”
“When clients understand how their retirement has been structured and why certain decisions have been made, it builds trust and confidence.”
